Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield this evening in a fixture that could prove pivotal in deciding who finishes inside the top four this season.
As things stand, Liverpool trail the Gunners by just one point, but Arsene Wenger’s side have a game in hand against Southampton, who they were scheduled to play last weekend but it was postponed due to the Saints reaching the EFL Cup final.
Though there are 12 games to go and plenty of points left to play for, if Jurgen Klopp’s men suffer defeat today, it is difficult to see how they will qualify for the Champions League. It is worth noting that both sides have an outside chance of winning the title, but neither can afford to drop any more points if they want to knock Chelsea off their perch.
