While Chelsea celebrate their much-deserved Premier League title triumph this weekend, reports claim Inter are ready to spoil the party already.
Antonio Conte has continued his successful ways by delivering a league title in his first season in England, while he also has a chance to make it a double when his side face Arsenal in the FA Cup final later this month.
However, while many would see this as just the perfect start to a project at Stamford Bridge with more building towards further success on the way, Inter have other ideas as The Sun report that they’re ready to offer the Italian tactician a chance to become the highest-paid coach in the world with a £20m-a-year deal.
In addition, it’s claimed that the Nerazzurri are ready to give the former Juventus and Italy boss £125m to spend this summer to build his own squad and of course there’s the important factor that it would allow Conte to return home and be with his family who haven’t moved to London this year.
The report even goes on to add which players will be targeted as part of the revolution with player sales also likely to generate further transfer funds for Conte to bring in his own individuals and help Inter get back to the top both in Serie A and in Europe.
Nevertheless, with Chelsea back in the Champions League next season and with much more to achieve in England, could he really be ready to walk away already?
It may well turn out to be a major bargaining chip that he can use to his advantage if he sits down with Chelsea officials this summer to thrash out a new, improved contract. However, with the money and promises on offer, it’s likely to be a nervous time for Chelsea supporters until he addresses it properly.
