Man United fans, this one might not make for good reading at all.

Jose Mourinho’s side might have just been dealt a big blow in their pursuit of Scotland and Celtic starlet Kieran Tierney, after his club announced that the player has signed a new six-year deal with the Hoops.

This was reported by the club’s official website, who say that the 20-year-old has extended his stay with the club until 2023.

The Daily Mail have said in the past the Red Devils have been tracking the defender, however following this news, it doesn’t seem as if Tierney will be securing a move to Old Trafford any time soon.

Since making his first team debut for the Scottish champions in 2014, Tierney has slowly become one of the first names on the team sheet at Celtic Park.

During his time with the club, the player has managed to amass a record of five goals and 24 assists in 97 appearances, a record that should be deemed good considering the player’s young age.

So far this season, Tierney has started his campaign in decent fashion, with the player managing to score two and assist four in 16 games in all competitions for the Scottish Premier League side, with the player particularly impressing in the Champions League.

Tierney has made three appearances in the Champions League so far this season, with the player grabbing an assist for his troubles in that time, a feat that shouldn’t be sniffed at considering the teams in Celtic’s group.

Should Tierney’s new deal with Celtic mean Man United are to miss out on the player, it’ll be interesting to see who the Premier League giants target next.
