Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among surprise suitors for Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw as he is made available for around £20million ahead of the January transfer window.
The England international has struggled to impress since moving to Old Trafford in 2014, but has long been considered one of the most promising young talents in the country.
Big clubs seemingly still retain an interest in him, with a host of new suitors mentioned as United look to offload him this winter and with Shaw not keen on an offer to join Fenerbahce on loan.
This is according to the Telegraph, who say Arsenal and Chelsea are joined by the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Everton in keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.
Arsenal only signed a new left-back in the summer, bringing in Sead Kolasinac on a free, though they did also sell Kieran Gibbs to West Brom so could be keen to add more depth in that area as Nacho Monreal is increasingly used in central defence.
Chelsea, meanwhile, lack real backup to Marcos Alonso and Shaw looks an ideal style of attacking player to slot in at wing-back in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system.
The Daily Mail claimed last month that Chelsea could come back in for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro in January, but Shaw would certainly be a cheap alternative.
