Chelsea and Real Madrid look to be in a transfer battle for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who would reportedly favour a move to the Bernabeu.
According to the Sun, the Blues are ready to pay as much as £100million for the prolific Argentine forward, who would break the Premier League transfer record if he moved for that fee.
Chelsea lost Diego Costa in the summer and replaced him with Alvaro Morata, who has been missed at Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane’s side look less convincing this season.
These events see both clubs looking to strengthen in attack, though the Sun claim Inter don’t want to sell Icardi in the middle of the season.

Chelsea, however, could do with more firepower to get their title defence back on track after a stuttering start, with three league defeats already.
Icardi, 24, has an impressive record of 11 goals in 12 Serie A matches so far, and is one of few players ranked with ’20’ finishing on the latest edition of Football Manager.
Despite Morata impressing at Stamford Bridge so far, Icardi arguably looks like he could be an upgrade, and would certainly be a better option to rotate than Michy Batshuayi has proven so far this term.
