Valencia’s Carlos Soler has asked his club to allow him to leave for Manchester United amid interest from the Red Devils.

A report from the Sun has stated Man United’s interest in the Spanish youngster has prompted him to beg his club to allow him to leave to join Jose Mourinho’s side.

With both United and Soler in agreement that a deal should happen it would appear to be a straightforward one. However, Valencia are reported to be reluctant to budge from their valuation of the star. The Spanish midfielder has a release clause of £71m but United are reported to be favouring a deal instead in the region of £45m.

Carlos Soler has begged his club Valencia to allow him to leave for Manchester United.

Soler is a central-midfielder who made his breakthrough last year into the Valencia first-team. The Spaniard had spent the year previous playing in Valencia’s B team but once he was given the opportunity to play for the first-team he has nailed down a regular spot in the heart of the Spanish Club’s midfield.

Manchester United’s interest in the star is said to have stemmed from an over reliance on French star Paul Pogba. It would appear that Pogba’s recent injury in September which sidelined him for two months highlighted to Mourinho and the United board that added depth was needed in the heart of the midfield at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen whether Soler will be the answer to these problems but he certainly is a name to watch out for and despite being yet to earn a cap for the Spanish national first-team we wouldn’t be surprised to see him make it into the international set-up just in time for the World Cup in Russia next summer.
