It’s fair to say that Liverpool supporters were left bitterly frustrated after they squandered a 3-0 lead at Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s men looked to be cruising to a win in Spain, but their defensive, and midfield, frailties let them down again as they had to settle for a point, which is arguably a result they would have been happy with prior to kick-off, but not after the circumstances in the game.
While the collective have plenty to think about ahead of their next outing against Chelsea at the weekend, it seems as though the focus was on one player in particular as the Liverpool faithful let their feelings be known while others also joined in and mocked him.
Alberto Moreno has won the trust of Klopp so far this season as after being sat on the sidelines watching James Milner being preferred to him in an unnatural position last year, the 25-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
However, he’s now risked being dropped back to the bench with his performance against Sevilla, with supporters specifically picking him out as a weak link again.
Dropping him at the weekend would surely be a bad move too as it will completely break his confidence, but Liverpool fans are not only disappointed with him, but also with Klopp as some called for summer signing Andy Robertson to get more opportunities having been limited to just three outings so far this season.
Unfortunately for Moreno he has again displayed that long term he can’t be trusted defensively. Such immature errors tonight.

Fed up of Wijnaldum doing the disappearing act in big away games. Henderson a laughable captain, absolutely nowhere to be seen, an empty shirt. Neither of them stepped up to control that second half. Moreno’s still a fucking headless chicken. Twats

Sampaoli clearly uttered the code words to turn on Moreno’s Sevilla sleeper agent device.

Liverpool fans to Alberto Moreno: A good 90 mins here will finally put your Europa League Final ghosts to rest.

Sevilla exploited Moreno in the 2016 Europa League final and did the same tonight. Does Klopp learn from his mistakes?

I don’t want to see Moreno playing left back again. Don’t care about his good form last games or best buddies with Coutinho.
Start Robertson @Klopp
