Benjamin Mendy secured his status as a Manchester City legend last night, and continued to show why he’s become one of the most loved players in the Premier League.
The French left-back has only made five appearances for City since his summer move from Monaco, but has become a real cult hero for his superb Twitter banter and passionate support of his new club.
Still, even he managed to take that to new levels last night as he ignored his ACL injury to limp from the sidelines to chase his team-mates celebrating a stoppage time winner against Southampton.
City looked like being frustrated by the Saints with the score tied at 1-1 going into the dying seconds, before Raheem Sterling scored a stunning solo effort to wrap up the three points.
From that point on, though, it was all about the Mendy celebration, as he rather stole the limelight with his superb show of passion for his club.

SFR Sport captured the moment brilliant, and even kept a log of how fast Mendy was moving – not bad for a player who hasn’t played since September!
City fans will dearly hope to see Mendy back on the pitch soon, even if he is the most entertaining man on Twitter.
