Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reportedly handed his club a major boost, snubbing a £70million transfer to Real Madrid, according to sources in Spain.
The 27-year-old is one of the best players in the world in his position, and has been a crucial performer for the Red Devils since his arrival all the way back in 2011/12.
BBC Sport reported that De Gea’s move to Madrid fell through back in 2015, and Don Balon now say he feels that particular ship has sailed.
The report claims De Gea has already informed Real that he is not interested in a move, which could spark a renewed effort to sign Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois, according to reports elsewhere.

Diario Gol have stated that Real gave De Gea a deadline by which to decide if he wants the move to the Bernabeu, and that Courtois would be their Plan B if that deal could not come to fruition.
With the Belgium international due to be out of contract until 2019, he looks a more realistic target for Los Blancos anyway at this stage.
Courtois was recently quoted in the Metro revealing that he was in no hurry to open talks over a new contract at Stamford Bridge, putting discussions off until the end of the season.
