Manchester City have opened talks over a new contract for star player Kevin De Bruyne as Pep Guardiola has reportedly become aware of transfer interest from Real Madrid.
The Belgium international has been in sensational form this season, and looks a decent shout to be Premier League player of the season if he carries on like this.
De Bruyne, 26, has an impressive record of 7 goals and 11 assists so far this term, and has really shown his influence with some big-game performances to take City well clear at the top of the table.
According to Don Balon, Real Madrid are admirers of his and are prepared to rival City’s contract offer with another big-money deal to lure him away from the Etihad Stadium.

Still, with City performing so strongly this season and looking set for glory under Guardiola, it begs the question why any top player would want to leave the club right now.
Of course, an offer from a prestigious name like Real Madrid would tempt anyone, but De Bruyne is really enjoying his football at the moment and seems an ideal fit in Guardiola’s side.
The Daily Mirror have also linked De Bruyne’s in-form team-mate Raheem Sterling with a possible move to Real Madrid this season.
