Agent gives Liverpool boost in Reds’ reported pursuit of 27-year-old PSG ace

Liverpool have been given a boost in their pursuit of PSG and Germany goalkeeper Kevin Trapp after the player’s agent insisted that the player will want to leave the French side next month should the opportunity present itself.

This is according to Sport1, a story that was re-reported by the Sun, who state that Trapp’s agent, Jorg Neybauer, has said that “If there’s a chance in the winter, Kevin wants to leave Paris.”

Goal reported that the Merseyside club are reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, so these words will be music to the ears of Liverpool, who are having goalkeeping troubles of their own, as both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have failed to impress fans during the duo’s time at Anfield.

Liverpool will be hoping Trapp forces a move away from PSG in January

Since arriving in France from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, Trapp has impressed for Unai Emery’s side.

In 80 appearances for the Paris-based side, the 27-year-old has managed to amass a total of 44 clean sheets, an impressive record.

Despite this, the German has seen himself out-of-favour at the Parc De Princes this campaign, as the shot-stopper has only made three appearances in all competitions, with Alphonse Areola being the French giants’ preferred option.

Should Trapp move to Anfield, the player should have no trouble settling in, as fellow German’s Emre Can and Jurgen Klopp are figures who can help the goalkeeper adjust to life in England.

If Liverpool are to sign Klopp, it’ll be interesting to see how the Reds’ goalkeeper situation pans out, as it would mean that the club have three first team ‘keepers on their hands.
