Liverpool are reportedly on the brink of losing one of their most important players, and ex-Man Utd defender Gary Neville seems to be enjoying it!
Reports continue to suggest that Philippe Coutinho could be edging closer to an exit from Anfield, with BBC Sport noting that a fresh bid from Barcelona is expected very soon.
The Brazilian playmaker has been in impressive form so far this season, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in just 20 appearances for the Reds, and so seeing the 25-year-old leave will be a huge blow for the Merseyside giants.
From a Man Utd perspective though, that will be music to the ears as their bitter rivals could lose a crucial piece in their bid to close the gap on them and really compete for major honours.
Further, as seen in the tweet below, it has been suggested that Coutinho ‘doesn’t intend to play for Liverpool again’ by a reporter, and his reported strike was seen as the perfect opportunity by Neville to wind up former rival and now Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher.
The Liverpool legend was also busy offering a passionate opinion on why Coutinho should stay until the summer from the club’s point of view and blasted talk of a strike.
While he was busy trying to be serious about the situation, Neville clearly isn’t missing the opportunity to have a pop and enjoyed what could be a damaging loss for Liverpool. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the sentiment was shared by a lot of United fans!
