5) Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)
Riyad Mahrez’s form took a dip last season, but Leicester City are seeing the best of him again this term with some dazzling displays, though that unfortunately has led to renewed speculation that Liverpool or Arsenal could sign him.
4) Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City)
Something of a joke player in his first two seasons for Manchester City, Nicolas Otamendi now looks hugely improved under Pep Guardiola and one of the most solid centre-backs in the Premier League.
3) Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
Some doubted if he could make the centre-forward spot his own, or if he should even be given a chance there for Liverpool, but Roberto Firmino has had a superb season this year, improving on his goalscoring and all-round game.
2) Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Currently City’s top scorer, it’s been a remarkable turnaround by Raheem Sterling, who was being talked about as a player who could be axed to make way for Alexis Sanchez. Now you’d have to wonder if the Chilean would get in ahead of him!
1) Jesse Lingard (Manchester United)
Surely the most improved player, however, is Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard. The 25-year-old has been involved in ten goals in his last ten games and looks unstoppable right now, despite many doubting he could ever become a regular with big names like Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan rivalling him for a place in attack. What a story.
