Man Utd transfer BOOST, Chelsea to PULL OUT of £60m transfer battle

It would appear as though Man Utd have been handed a real boost as Chelsea have cooled their interest in a shared £60m target.

Given that this could be a potential solution for Jose Mourinho in a problematic area of his squad with ongoing doubts at left-back, signing Juventus defender Alex Sandro could finally address the situation long term.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have been put off by the Brazilian’s £60m price-tag, with United, City and Paris Saint-Germain all specifically mentioned as other options.

In truth, that is a lot of money for Sandro, as although he has impressed in Serie A and been a consistently important part of their team under Massimiliano Allegri, it’s going to be expensive to prise him away from Turin and it has to be asked if it’s worth the investment.

Nevertheless, most of Man Utd’s targets seemingly are going to cost a lot, and so it will likely be down to Jose Mourinho to make his case as to whether he feels Alex Sandro is the perfect addition to his team.

If a move materialises, it will be a major disappointment for Luke Shaw who has broken back into the starting line-up in recent weeks and is seemingly making a case for there to be no need to sign another left-back.

However, with Chelsea now appearing to be on the verge of pulling out of the race to sign Sandro, United could have an opportunity to swoop and it may be too appealing to turn down.
