Barcelona could land two Atletico Madrid stars next summer if they get lucky, with Saul Niguez reportedly wanting to follow Antoine Griezmann in sealing a transfer to the Nou Camp.
According to Don Balon, Griezmann looks closer to completing a deal to move to Barca, and Saul hopes to join him in leaving current club Atletico Madrid.
This would be another blow to Diego Simeone, who has had to deal with losing a number of big names in recent years, including Arda Turan to Barcelona as well.
Don Balon’s report is also bad news for Manchester United, as they state Griezmann is prepared to snub both the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain with the preference of staying in La Liga.
Griezmann, 26, has been one of the top attacking players in Europe in recent years and could be a perfect fit in Ernesto Valverde’s side.
However, it’s debatable if they really need him given this January’s signing of Philippe Coutinho, as well as the addition of Ousmane Dembele in the summer.
Those two join Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in a star-studded front line that doesn’t exactly look in urgent need of improvement any time soon.
Saul, however, could be a fine signing in midfield if there’s any hope Barca can persuade Atletico to let another key player go.
