Manchester United have reportedly been told it may cost more than £75million to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy in this January’s transfer window.
The Foxes are determined to hold on to their star forward after an approach from United, and look set to make life very difficult indeed for the Red Devils.
Despite being 31 and only being looked at as a squad player by Jose Mourinho, the Leicester Mercury claim the club could command more than United paid Everton for Romelu Lukaku last summer.
The report suggests this will put United off following up their interest, so mission accomplished by Leicester if that is the case.

Remarkably, reports elsewhere suggest the 2015/16 Premier League champions only want around £40-50million for Riyad Mahrez amid links with Arsenal and Liverpool.
United have plenty of money to spend, but will surely now turn their attention towards the likes of Alexis Sanchez, who should be available for as little as £35million due to his contract situation, or Paulo Dybala, who would be better value at £75m-plus than someone like Vardy.
