It looks like good news for Arsenal over in Spain as reports claim Real Madrid are not currently pursuing a transfer move for Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir.
The France international has been in superb form in Ligue 1 this season, and netted a stunning goal in last night’s victory over title favourites Paris Saint-Germain.
Fekir arguably looks one of the top attacking performers in Europe this term, so it’s little surprise to see talk emerging that he could be on the move to a bigger club.
The Daily Star linked Arsenal with talks over the £60million-rated star back in November, but it remains to be seen if he is currently a priority as other deals seem to be going on.
Gianluca Di Marzio recently reported that things are moving closer in terms of Arsenal signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Alexis Sanchez also closes in on a move to Manchester United.
Still, Arsenal may yet need further reinforcements in that area of the pitch as Mesut Ozil is heading towards the end of his contract and could walk away on a free transfer in the summer.
Fekir could be ideal for Arsene Wenger’s needs, and Don Balon claim Real Madrid are not likely to be in the running for him for the moment.
The Spanish source states that manager Zinedine Zidane is a big fan, but Florentino Perez would rather sign an out-and-out striker as a priority.
