It’s fair to say that Martin Keown didn’t endear himself to Man Utd supporters on Friday night as he commentated on their win over Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
As noted by the Metro, the former Arsenal defender would have irked them prior to the game as he doubled down on his belief that Alexis Sanchez was a ‘mercenary’ with his decision to join United over rivals Man City due to the money on offer.

However, that wasn’t where the issue ended as while he was seemingly a little too critical of the Chilean international throughout the game, he didn’t really have too many positive things to say about the Red Devils in general.
Granted, Sanchez had a poor start to the game and so deservedly earned some stick, but Keown’s commentating was biased for many as they slammed him for being overly critical of the former Arsenal star.
In a complete plot twist though, he eventually gave Sanchez the Man of the Match award at the end of the game, while he was impressed with how the visitors saw off Yeovil in the closing stages to secure a comfortable win.
Nevertheless, based on the tweets below, the damage had already been done as far as Keown was concerned, and many weren’t shy in letting him know that they didn’t particularly enjoy his commentating on the night…
