Chelsea manager Antonio Conte just one defeat away from being sacked by Roman Abramovich

Antonio Conte is reportedly just one defeat away from being sacked by Chelsea as he prepares to take his side to Watford on Monday night.

According to the Daily Express, another loss for the Italian in the Premier League tomorrow evening could be enough for Roman Abramovich to decide to make a change.

The report also suggests former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique would be in the frame to replace Conte immediately, with the Spanish tactician out of work since stepping down from his position at the Nou Camp at the end of last season.

This could be a necessary change for Chelsea, who have looked in free-fall at points this season as they’ve put in a feeble defence of their Premier League crown won so convincingly under Conte last term.

The former Juventus boss no longer seems able to get the best out of this group of players, and has made some questionable changes to his squad in the transfer market.

While it is unclear just how much control Conte has over ins and outs at Stamford Bridge, he has overseen the departures of key players Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic, with some poor replacements arriving in their place.

Summer buys such as Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko have struggled, while January purchases such as Olivier Giroud and Ross Barkley are hardly A-list either.

Chelsea should have it in them to beat Watford, but have just two wins in their last nine in all competitions, and one more defeat could spell the end for Conte.
