Barcelona given 90% chance of sealing marquee signing, huge development in €100m pursuit

According to reports, Barcelona are seemingly on the verge of putting things in place to seal the signing of Antoine Griezmann this summer.

The Catalan giants are already very strong in the attacking department, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and others at coach Ernesto Valverde’s disposal.

That’s reflected in their form so far this season, as they sit nine points clear at the top of the La Liga table and remain in the hunt for the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

However, according to Don Balon, as re-reported by The Express, they could be about to strengthen further with the addition of Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

It’s claimed that through compatriot Dembele, it’s known that the Frenchman is 90% on the way to the Nou Camp, and is even looking at properties in Barcelona to snap up ahead of his €100m move, as per the release clause in his contract.

The 26-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 28 games so far this season, and provided that Valverde is able to either find a way of fitting all of his stars in the line-up or perhaps even rotates them as Barca compete for multiple trophies in the years ahead, it would be a huge addition.

Having shown he has the technical quality, eye for goal and capability to be a leading figure for club and country in recent years, there are likely to be few reservations over whether or not Griezmann will fit in at the Nou Camp, and based on the report above, that process could be happening this summer as the reported search for a property is a big indication of his intentions moving forward.
