10 worst Premier League signings of the season: Chelsea dominate list of duds, plus Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool flops

6) Danny Drinkwater (Chelsea)

Given that Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic, this really isn’t an adequate job at replacing him.

Danny Drinkwater looked a decent enough player at Leicester City, but you wouldn’t really count him as among the biggest stars of that 2015/16 title-winning side.

This surprise signing certainly hasn’t gone well and few would be surprised if he were axed straight away this summer.

5) Ross Barkley (Chelsea)

A truly bizarre signing, Ross Barkley was signed from Everton despite not playing a single game for them this season due to injury.

We’ve not seen much of the England international since his switch to Stamford Bridge, and it’s hard to see a role for him in this side.

Next time, Chelsea, if Everton don’t want a player, he’s probably not going to be good enough for you. Just saying.

Alexandre Lacazette has struggled badly since joining Arsenal from Lyon

4) Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal)

The latest of many good players to go backwards since joining Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette is undoubtedly up there with the flops of the season.

The France international has just one goal in his last 13 appearances for the Gunners and it’s hard to see him recovering now that he’s got Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for competition.
