Real Madrid ready to launch £150million Chelsea transfer raid as Blues fail with contract offer

Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a £150million bid to seal the transfer of Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who won’t sign a new contract.

This is according to the Daily Mail, who report the Blues have failed to persuade Hazard to put pen to paper on a new £300,000 a week deal at Stamford Bridge.

Losing the Belgium international would certainly be a huge blow for the club, who finished 5th in the Premier League last season and who may struggle to find a top class replacement given their recent poor record in the transfer market.

Chelsea made a host of poor signings last summer as they brought in flops like Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who came in as Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic left.

Luring players good enough to replace Hazard without having Champions League football on offer certainly wouldn’t be easy, and in any case he’s long been a real favourite of the Stamford Bridge crowd.

Sport have also linked the 27-year-old with Barcelona in recent times, and he may not even be the only big name on his way out of Chelsea this summer.

The Guardian report of Antonio Conte’s imminent sacking, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois also expected to leave.

Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio also links N’Golo Kante with Barcelona in what would be another huge blow for CFC.
