Barcelona are reportedly making early steps to ensure they’re ahead of Real Madrid in any future transfer battle for Kylian Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain teenager is attracting all the headlines today after his starring role for France as they won Sunday’s World Cup final against Croatia.

Mbappe, having won two Ligue 1 titles in two years with Monaco and PSG, has now added the World Cup to his honours collection, and scored a superb goal in the 4-2 final win over Croatia.

According to Don Balon, it looks unlikely that the 19-year-old will be on the move this summer after only joining PSG a year ago, but Barcelona want to make sure they’re at the front of the queue for any future deal.

The Spanish outlet does not make it entirely clear what Barca are doing to achieve this, but the club are well aware that in a few years they will need to start thinking about replacing star names like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Mbappe looks destined for the very top and would be an ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid as well, but there’s no denying with his style of football that it would be a joy to see him doing his thing at the Nou Camp.
