Chelsea can reportedly seal the transfer of Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen for around €40million – as much as €20m below his release clause.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo, who claim Barca are ready to let their Dutch shot-stopper leave this summer as Chelsea show an interest.

Despite only being a backup at Barcelona, Cillessen seems a decent option for Chelsea, especially as he could be available on the cheap.

The Blues have already missed out on Roma ‘keeper Alisson as he prepares to join Liverpool, as noted by Mundo Deportivo, and they need a replacement for Thibaut Courtois as he looks close to a move to Real Madrid, according to Marca.

The Belgium international would be a big loss and though Cillessen, 29, is not quite in the same league, fans would surely be happy with that as a new signing.

Beggars cannot afford to be choosers at this point and Chelsea could be at crisis point soon as so many of their players are linked with moves away.

The Sun claim Willian, Courtois and Eden Hazard could all be looking to move on this summer, even with the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as a replacement for Antonio Conte.
