Chelsea are reportedly considering signing either Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford or Stoke City’s Jack Butland as they seek a replacement if Thibaut Courtois seals a transfer to Real Madrid.
The Blues are in something of a mini-crisis this summer as various reports link a number of their star players with moves away from Stamford Bridge.
Maurizio Sarri has already replaced Antonio Conte as manager ahead of what could be a season of big change at the club, and it seems they’re preparing for another huge departure.

Having come to the final year of his contract, it is little wonder Courtois looks set to leave, and the Sun claim CFC are looking at either £60million-rated Pickford or £20m-rated Butland to replace him as number one.
Both are fine players, particularly Pickford after his World Cup form for England, though one could reasonably question if either would be quite up to Courtois’ standard.
The Belgian shot-stopper has been a key performer for Chelsea in recent years and also had an immense World Cup with his country as they finished third in Russia.
The Sun say Chelsea are yet to bid for either player, but the Times are among sources who’ve claimed they’re looking at bringing in a replacement for Courtois before sanctioning his exit.
