Jose Mourinho decides Manchester United will accept £60million Chelsea transfer target’s desire to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided the club will accept Anthony Martial’s departure in this transfer window, though only on their terms.

According to the Daily Express, the Red Devils want £60million for Martial and only want to sell the France international abroad, rather than to Premier League rivals Chelsea or Tottenham.

The Express also mention interest from Bayern Munich, who could therefore perhaps be the favourites to sign Martial if they’re prepared to pay up for him before the end of the summer.

This is a big blow for Chelsea, with the Times recently claiming they were looking at the 22-year-old as a replacement for Eden Hazard if he leaves for Real Madrid.

The young attacker has shone in fits and bursts at Old Trafford, and it seems clear he could develop into a top player if he is given the right guidance under the kind of manager who’d suit his game.

Maurizio Sarri is known to be committed to more attacking football than Mourinho, so could be ideal for Martial to develop and improve in the Premier League.

This could be a distant dream for the Blues, however, who will likely have to look elsewhere for a big-name attacking signing if Hazard does leave.
