Manchester United are being tipped to complete the transfer of Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld amid links with the Red Devils for around £55million.
The Evening Standard continue to state United are after the £55m-rated Belgium international in defence, though the report also mentions they’ve been looking for cheaper alternatives.
This ties in well with what Mundo Deportivo have been reporting, with the Spanish outlet suggesting a deal for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina is progressing well as he’s agreed personal terms with United.

The Colombian centre-back would cost a lot less, around £35m, and seems a promising young player who could improve if given more opportunities than he’s managed in his time at the Nou Camp.
However, journalist Phil Brown, described by Stretty News as a ‘reliable’ source for goings-on at United, has insisted that there’s more to the Alderweireld transfer saga than the one regarding Mina.
In the tweet below, Brown has advised people to put their money on a deal for the Spurs man going through instead.
Utd heavily linked with Mina but everything I’m being told is “put your money on Alderweireld not Mina”

This could be music to the ears of United fans as Alderweireld is undoubtedly the more proven player, establishing himself as one of the very best players in Europe in his position in recent years.
The 29-year-old has been a big hit at Tottenham, helping make Mauricio Pochettino’s side one of the most solid outfits in the Premier League.
