Sergio Ramos and Marcelo are some of a number of Real Madrid stars who don’t want to see Thibaut Courtois start over Keylor Navas for the season ahead.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that the aforementioned duo would rather see the Costa Rican claim a starting place over Courtois this campaign, and that they feel the shot-stopper has been treated unfairly by the club.

It’s nice to see something like this on today’s game, especially in an era when unfaithfulness has been something that has often been a common trait amongst players in recent years.

Navas has been in fine form for Los Blancos these past few years, so it’s easy to see why both Marcelo and Ramos are keen to see him keep his place as Madrid’s No.1 ‘keeper this season.

The Costa Rican international’s consistent displays for Julen Lopetegui’s side in the Champions League was one of the main reasons as to why the club were able to win three consecutive titles in the competition.

Although Courtois is clearly one of the world’s best goalkeepers, it would be harsh on Navas for him to be dropped instantly following the arrival of the Belgian from Chelsea this summer.
