Some Arsenal fans have called for the club to “get rid” of right-back Hector Bellerin following a poor display against Chelsea this afternoon.
One fan even even went as far as branding the player a “waste”:
Bellerin is just one waste @arsenal should get rid of

Bellerin has shown that he has a lot of defensive holes in his game over the past few years, holes which don’t look like they’re being fixed any time soon.
This has lead to Arsenal fans wondering why the 23-year-old is still at the club, with the Spaniard showning time and time again that he is a liability to his teammates when defending.
As Chelsea attacked, Arsenal’s defence they continuously fell apart, showing little or no desire to win the ball back from their west London counterparts, which ultimately led to them conceding goals which could have been prevented with better defending.
Bellerin particularly angered fans as he jogged back before Chelsea scored there second of the game through Alvaro Morata.
While Arsenal got back into the game through goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi, the defensive errors from the Gunners were astoundingly bad.
Check out some other tweets from fans following a performance to forget from Bellerin:
Awful defending Bellerin shouldn't be anywhere near this team. Dreadful. Sokratis is a waste of money Mkhitaryan just lazy. This team is broken need to get rid of half the squad and start again.

When you play with Ozil, your automatically playing with 10 men. Once Arsenal get rid of fashion models like Bellerin and the rest of the car boot sale players from the Wenger era, then Arsenal might have a chance of doing well#CHEARS

Watching Bellerin jog back for the second goal is my main reason for wanting to get rid of him, he actually doesnt give a fuck. #bellerin #CHEARS

Until we get rid of mustafi and bellerin this is gonna keep happening shocking players

We needed to get rid of the usual suspects Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka & Ozil this summer and fully rebuild. Didn’t happen same old errors. I can’t see how any of these players will improve over time under Emery.

I am sorry but Bellerin has gone backwards for 2 years.

Arsenal's back 5 of Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis and Monreal is a joke back 5 for a club the size of Arsenal. That's where they will come unstuck this season. Shocking back 5. #MUFC

When will Bellerin learn to defend? You don't let Hazard run at you. #CheArs Same old Arsenal. #arsenal

Bellerin is nowhere near Lichsteiner's level. Didn't sense Hazard's danger a few minutes before the goal, then got done again for the goal.

Bellerin is useless. Sell him.

Need to sell Bellerin. Disgraceful tracking back. Lazy.

Unai Emery’s biggest task at Arsenal will most definitely be overhauling his team’s defence, something that might take a while to do given how poor they looked today.
