Real Madrid offered transfer of classy attacker after Barcelona move broke down

Real Madrid have reportedly been offered the chance to seal the transfer of Chelsea winger Willian before the end of the summer after his move to Barcelona fell through.

The Catalan giants notably ended up signing Malcom from Bordeaux instead, but it seems Willian could still be on the move after becoming an option for Real.

However, according to Don Balon, Madrid are not interested in this particular offer as club president Florentino Perez continues to prioritise big names like Willian’s Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard.

Willian would surely be more realistic, however, and is arguably an underrated performer from the Premier League after years of great service to the Blues.

That said, it also seems a questionable decision for CFC to let the Brazil international go at this point, with the transfer window not open for English clubs again until January.

While Chelsea could perhaps do without Willian until January, it is probably not a risk worth taking after their slip to fifth place last season and possibly an even more competitive fight to make the top four this term.
