Liverpool ace bumped up the pecking order as Jurgen Klopp ‘blown away’ by training performances

Liverpool’s young goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has reportedly been promoted to third choice at the club after leaving Jurgen Klopp and staff ‘blown away’ by his displays in training.

The Reds seem to have a big talent on their hands, with the 19-year-old shot-stopper supposedly now third choice at the club behind summer signing Alisson and Simon Mignolet, according to the Liverpool Echo.

LFC have had some success with academy players in their recent past, with Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen among notable examples during the 90s.

Since then, young players like Raheem Sterling have also come through, and more recently Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Caoimhin Kelleher has wowed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Kelleher clearly faces plenty of competition in goal after the summer signing of Alisson from Roma for big money, but fans can be excited to hear about the next big thing possibly coming through as a superior alternative to Mignolet, at least.

The Belgian lost his place at Liverpool last season and seems unlikely to get it back, so fans will hope that Kelleher can perhaps get the nod over him in cup games at some points this season.

Klopp has a lot of talent in his squad now, so to be that impressed by the Irishman is some compliment, to say the least.

Where will Liverpool finish in the Premier League this season?
