Manchester United legend Gary Neville has sent a message of congratulations to Luke Shaw on Twitter after his recall to the England squad today.
The outspoken pundit is clearly thrilled to see a top young player from his old club get a look-in at international level after a long absence.
Well done @LukeShaw23 ! https://t.co/MatFeBrhAZ

Injury troubles and a lack of regular playing time until this season have seen Shaw overlooked by England in recent times, with the left-back missing out on the World Cup earlier this summer.
In bringing Shaw back into the Three Lions fold, Southgate explained the qualities he’s seen from the 23-year-old this season that persuaded him to give him a fresh opportunity at this level, as quoted by Nick Mashiter in the tweet below:
Southgate added on Shaw: "He has had a difficult period adapting to a new club, a horrendous injury, but he has had an extra edge to his game.
"When it's been going against his team he has been one who has shown aggression and a desire not to lose."— Nick Mashiter (@nickmashiter) August 30, 2018
Despite United losing two of their opening three Premier League games, Shaw has stood out as a top performer for the Red Devils, with Mourinho seen on camera after the Spurs defeat going over to speak to him one-on-one.
Many have long felt Shaw is an exciting young talent, and it seems he’s finally getting the chance to prove it at the highest level for both club and country.
