Arsenal manager Unai Emery has appeared to drop a major hint at the incoming transfer of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez.
The 25-year-old has been increasingly linked with the Gunners in the last few days, with Sky Sports among the sources suggesting a deal looks close for the player to make the move to the Emirates Stadium.
Suarez looks a useful potential signing for Arsenal in the middle of the park, with doubts remaining over the likes of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, while Aaron Ramsey will be out of contract with the club at the end of the season.
However, it seems manager Emery may also be ready to try Suarez out wide, where Arsenal are also slightly lacking in options at the moment.
Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Blackpool yesterday, the Spanish tactician hinted that a move for Suarez must be pretty close as he discussed the player’s best position and how he’s used him before, having managed him at Sevilla.
‘He was playing in his career, and with me also, as a right or left winger,’ Emery is quoted by the Daily Express.
While Suarez may seem a slightly underwhelming signing for Arsenal, Emery has shown he can improve players through coaching, while there is also no shame in struggling to play regularly in this Barcelona midfield.
