Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set for transfer talks over Nikola Milenkovic this week.

The Serbian starlet is one of Serie A’s top young players at the moment and looks a potential signing that could do the world of good for United’s back line this season.

The latest from the Sun is that Solskjaer is set to discuss a potential £45million deal for the Fiorentina star with Ed Woodward, despite only being in charge of the team on a temporary basis.

It seems United could look for the Norwegian tactician to give his opinion on the player, who has long been linked with United, while the Sun also mention interest from Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

The Red Devils, however, could really do with winning the race for this signing, with the team not at its best defensively this term due to unconvincing performances from players like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, while Eric Bailly has also gone backwards.

Milenkovic could be a big upgrade, and at the age of 21 could be a solution for United at the back for many years to come.

The Sun’s reported valuation of £45m for the player could also end up being a bargain if that’s all they end up paying for him this month.
