Opinion: Five alternatives to Ceballos transfer for Arsenal to consider, including Premier League pass-master

Ruben Neves

One of the finest midfielders in the Premier League outside of the big six, Ruben Neves has continued to shine for Wolves.

The classy Portugal international has looked an elite talent from a young age, and he should be approaching his peak now as he’ll turn 24 next season.

Ruben Neves has shone at Wolves and would be a great fit for Arsenal

It remains to be seen if Neves himself would be ready to swap Wolves for Arsenal at this stage, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side looking like an interesting project who will surely be going places in the near future, whereas there’s no guarantee of that at the Emirates Stadium.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Finally, a player who seems to be perpetually linked with a move to England, could Arsenal be a realistic option for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbia international is another creative midfield player with plenty of intelligence and flair, and there’s no doubt he could lift this Arsenal team to a new level.

While AFC would surely love to extend Ceballos’ stay in north London, it’s clear there are other quality options out there, with any of the names above likely to majorly improve Arteta’s squad next season.
