Tottenham considering summer swoop for 45-year-old Portuguese manager

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a quality long-term replacement for Antonio Conte.

The Italian was sacked recently after his public outburst questioning the commitment of his players. While the North London giants have been linked with a number of managers recently, they are yet to zero in on an appointment.

Cristian Stellini was put in charge of the first team on an interim basis, but he has been dismissed following a humiliating defeat against Newcastle United. Tottenham have now appointed their former midfielder Ryan Mason as the interim manager.

According to a report from Football Insider, Fulham manager Marco Silva is reportedly a target for Tottenham.

The 45-year-old has done an impressive job at Craven Cottage, and it seems that Tottenham are impressed with his exploits.

Silva helped Fulham win the Championship last season and the Londoners are set to finish in the top half of the Premier League this season.

Fulham started the season brilliantly and at one point it seemed like they would secure European qualification for the next season. However, a dip in form and the suspension of star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic have affected their chances of playing in Europe next season.

Regardless, it has been an impressive campaign from Silva and his men. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to join a big club like Tottenham in the summer.

The 45-year-old will be desperate to prove his quality at the highest level, and Tottenham can provide him with the platform to challenge for trophies.
