Villareal’s Pau Torres is said to be on the radars of both Aston Villa and Tottenham this summer with the Spaniard impressing at his club.
Torres has been linked with a move away from Villareal for a few transfer windows now and Fichajes are claiming that the Premier League pair are eyeing him up this summer.
The 26-year old has been a Villareal player his whole career, making 169 appearances for The Yellow Submarine and rumours of a move for him are ramping up once again.
La Razon reported last summer that Manchester United were very interested in the 23-time capped Spanish international upon Erik ten Hag’s arrival at the club, but the Red Devils ultimately settled on Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
Aston Villa’s interest in Torres is understandable with boss Unai Emery having managed the defender at Villareal from 2020 to 2022, during which time they won a Europa League together.
Spurs are managerless right now and could be looking for a defensive shakeup this summer, with Clement Leglet’s immediate future at the club in limbo, while Eric Dier is no closer to extending his stay in London beyond 2024 when his Spurs contract will expire.
Valued at a modest €45million by Transfermarkt, Torres would be an upgrade for both of these sides and it will be interesting to see whether he makes the step up to the Premier League where he has been touted to go for so long.
