Arsenal are sweating on the status of winger Gabriel Martinelli.
In action on Sunday against Brighton and Hove Albion, Martinelli, 21, after suffering a poor challenge from Moises Caicedo, was forced off after just 20 minutes with what appeared to be an injury to his lower leg.
Not only was Martinelli’s afternoon cut short, but after being thumped 3-0 by the away team, so was the Gunners’ race for this season’s Premier League title.
And things could be about to get a lot worse for the Londoners after their number 11 was spotted after Sunday’s full-time whistle wearing a protective boot.

Speaking to reporters after yesterday’s game about Martinelli’s potentially season-ending injury, Arteta, as quoted by Football London, said: “We don’t know [how bad it is]. He’s in a boot at the moment. He was very uncomfortable, and he could not carry on playing. We need to scan him and see the extent of that injury.”
