Postecoglou makes best start by a Premier League manager, but is more concerned with Spurs second half display

Ange Postecoglou wasn’t happy with Tottenham’s second half performance, and when asked about being the best starting manager in Premier League history, his response was “that second 45’s got me plenty to think about mate”.

Tottenham beat Fulham 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a first half goal from Son Heung-min and a second half goal from James Maddison.

However Postecoglou clearly saw something he didn’t like in the second half, saying his side was really wasteful with the ball and gave the ball away too much.

He was however happy with the first half, saying his only criticism was they didn’t score three or four.

That win against Fulham has returned Tottenham to the top of the Premier League, sitting on 23 points after their first nine games.

They have managed seven wins and two draws, and remain one of the only two teams left unbeaten this campaign, along with London rivals Arsenal.

Spurs face Crystal Palace next at Selhurst Park on Friday the 27th of October, before facing Chelsea on Monday the 6th of November, in what could be a very fiesty affair.

This game against Chelsea will be the first time Mauricio Pochettino (now manager of Chelsea) has returned to his old club, and it will be interesting to see what type of reception he gets.
