Pundit believes Spurs still have “a long way to go”

talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan believes Spurs still have “a long way to go” and could only win the Premier League if other clubs aren’t up to standard.

Jordan made the point that for Spurs to be in the conversation for winning the Premier League, Manchester City would need to see a decline, as would Arsenal, and Liverpool would need to not pick up their standards following on from last season which was a disappointment.

He also went on to say that Tottenham are “a far better outfit” from a footballing side and from a media perspective.

Jordan says he did expect Ange Postecoglou to have an effect when joining the club, but not to be sitting top of the league after nine games.

Postecoglou’s side sit top of the Premier League after beating Fulham on Monday night with goals from Son Heung-min and James Maddison.

This comes after finishing 8th in the Premier League last campaign, losing their star man Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer and changing managers.

Jordan ended by rounding up on the Spurs squad, saying they have a good team, the manager change is good as “Antonio Conte was a waste of time at the end”, and Harry Kane leaving has given other players the chance to step up and take their opportunities.
