Tottenham leading rivals Arsenal in the race to sign in-form Premier League winger

TEAMtalk claims that Tottenham have a strong chance of landing a deal for Wolves winger Pedro Neto, who is being linked to many elite Premier League teams.

After summer signing Brennan Johnson failed to establish himself at the North London club, Ange Postecoglou is eager to add further competition for the winger position.

With just three goals in 22 Premier League games for Spurs, Johnson has found it difficult to start his Spurs career. He is behind Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in the pecking order.

Thanks to their positive connection with the winger’s agency, Gestifute, Spurs have a decent chance of clinching a deal, according to sources close to TEAMtalk.

In the past, Postecoglou has had success working with Gestifute; in 2021, for example, he was able to get Jota to join his former team, Celtic.

With Neto, who he thinks might be a great addition to his Tottenham team, the manager is now hoping to pull off the same feat.

Spurs will have to beat competition from Arsenal for the signature of Neto. Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the Portuguese winger and has been eyeing a move for the player for a long time.

He wants to add depth and competition to the wide position in his team and sees Neto as the perfect fit for the Gunners.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with Neto in recent weeks. Dan Ashworth, who could become the new sporting director of Man United, is reportedly a fan of the Wolves winger.

Although Neto’s contract with Wolves expires in 2027, there have been rumours recently that the Midlands club may be compelled to sell him in order to abide by the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

It’s too soon to tell exactly what Wolves would ask for Neto, rumours have emerged that Gary O’Neil’s team are open to offers around £80 million.
