‘The best’ – Kyle Walker snubs Pep Guardiola to name former manager as ‘best man manager’

Kyle Walker, who acknowledged that he cherished playing for the former Tottenham manager, declared that Harry Redknapp is the finest man-manager he has ever worked under.

When Walker initially joined the team from Sheffield United, Redknapp was in charge at White Hart Lane.

The right-back made a smooth transition to the Tottenham first team squad in the 2011–12 season after performing well while on loan at Aston Villa.

Even though he was playing for a superb Spurs team that had players like Jermain Defoe, Rafael van der Vaart, Ledley King, Luka Modric, and Gareth Bale, the nimble full-back never seemed out of place.

Regarding his time with Redknapp, the 33-year-old revealed to Rio Ferdinand Presents Five:

“I liked it, I liked it. He was similar to [Neil] Warnock, I played under Warnock at QPR.

“Harry’s the best I’d say man-manager that I’ve probably had, where he’d make you feel – once he loved you, that was it – he made you feel like you were the best player.

“And I think obviously (having alongside him) Joe Jordan and Kevin Bond was massive, especially for me as a youngster.”

While Pep Guardiola is the most decorated and possibly the most talented manager Walker has worked under, when it comes to man management, the England international opted for Redknapp.

The former Spurs manager was behind the growth of many young players in the Premier League.

He managed the West Ham United team that had players like Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard and other talented players.

Redknapp is widely respected in the English game for his experience and ability to develop young talent.

The former Spurs manager played a huge role in the development of Walker, who has now gone on to become one of the best full-backs in the league’s history.
