Arsenal are reportedly set to make an improved bid for Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu after an initial offer of €20million was deemed too low by the Turkish giants.
That’s according to a report from Sabah Spor, who state that the Gunners could try again with a bid worth around €25m in total, including bonuses.
The report suggests that Kadioglu himself is open to moving and hopes to help Fenerbahce earn as much as possible from his sale, while Bayer Leverkusen are also mentioned as being among the suitors for the 24-year-old.
Kadioglu has impressed during his time at Fener and it seems likely he could have a fine career ahead of him at the very highest level, with Arsenal surely in need of a left-back of his calibre.
Kadioglu transfer: Arsenal’s upgrade on Zinchenko?
While Oleksandr Zinchenko looked an exciting signing for Arsenal when he first joined from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, the Ukraine international’s form has gone a little downhill in recent times and it may be that the Gunners now need to aim even higher for that position.
Mikel Arteta ended up using Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu for quite a few games this season, even though neither of them are natural left-backs, and someone like Kadioglu might be a better long-term option.
Leverkusen would also surely be a tempting move for the Turkey international after their superb form this season that has them closing in on an unbeaten treble under Xabi Alonso.
Still, the Premier League is widely considered the pinnacle of European football these days, so if Arsenal keep pushing for the player, it might be hard for him to turn down the chance to accept an offer to move to the Emirates Stadium.
