“I love everything about the club” – Special Arsenal target sends transfer window message

Arsenal came so close to toppling Man City last season in the Premier League that one or two studious signings could finally see them leapfrog Pep Guardiola’s side at the summit.

If they were missing anything it was an out and out striker, which seems an odd thing to say when they managed to score 91 goals – surpassed only by City’s 96.

However, they were spread out across the team and had they had a real ‘killer’ of a striker, there’s no knowing how well they would’ve ended the 2023/24 campaign.

Arsenal target’s transfer window message

One player that the Gunners appear to have had their eye on for some time is Newcastle ace, Alexander Isak.

It’s long been felt that the Magpies would have to sell a big name this summer to stay inside Financial Fair Play limits, however, Eddie Howe and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) could well do without losing any of their best players.

Isak had a brilliant season, scoring 21 goals in 30 appearances, per transfermarkt, but any thoughts that the North Londoners might have of seeing the Swedish international line up in the red and white would appear to be wide of the mark.

Alexander Isak doesn’t want to join Arsenal

“I am enjoying myself at Newcastle, and I had the best season in my career — that should not be underestimated,” he said to Fotballskanalen.

“I love everything about the club; the fans, and the city.

“It (my future) is not something I will speculate about, I have no thoughts on leaving. There has been no talk about it at the club and I have received no information that the could would have to sell me.”

That’s sure to disappoint Arteta and delight Howe, particularly when you consider that Arsenal could offer him Champions League football next season and, thanks to Man United’s FA Cup final win, Newcastle are now out of Europe altogether.

It makes a pleasant change to see a player that would prioritise his happiness ahead of making a few more millions too.
