Arsenal came out as convincing winners against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners won 5-1 and made a statement that they are still hunting for the Premier League title and cannot be written off.

An early goal from Martin Odegaard in the second minute started the goal scoring at the Emirates Stadium but City equalised through Erling Haaland.

Goals from Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri in the second half made sure that the Gunners come out as winners against the Premier League champions.

Football pundit Gary Neville was impressed with Arsenal’s performance but particularly upset about how one of the players behaved in the win against City.

When Odegaard scored for Mikel Arteta’s side, Gabriel was pictured laughing in the face of City attacker Haaland, who struggled in the first half against the Gunners.

Neville has criticised the Arsenal defender for his behaviour in the win against Man City.

Speaking on The Gary Neville podcast, he said:

‘I don’t like it. I think it’s a bit disrespectful. I know Haaland is the pantomime villain here today but there was something about it I didn’t like.

‘I was many things, and that [winding others up] was my game, but I never did that. I never went and screamed in a player’s face. It made me feel a little bit uneasy.’

The reason why Gabriel celebrated like that was because some of the Arsenal players clashed with Haaland at the end of their match earlier in the season at Etihad Stadium.

City scored an injury time equaliser against the Gunners in that match and players from both the sides clashed with Haaland telling Arteta to “stay humble”.

It started a feud between both the sides and the Gunners wanted to make a statement this time around against Guardiola’s side.

Perhaps Gabriel went a little overboard in doing that but there is nothing wrong with showing the right aggression and passion as this is what fans love about the game.

    1. I don’t know if Neville said something about how Halaand behaved with that ball hitting on Gabriel. If he didn’t comment then Neville is a “BIG FOOL”…

    1. who is this Neville to criticism everyone left and right. It was recently rashford and now Gabriel. We don’t care if you like it or not. that’s part of the game

  1. Garry bro relax after the equalizer halaand threw a ball on Gabriel’s head did you like that???
Best professional revenge by Gabi 🤣🤣🤣

  2. Gari never told Harlaand he went too far when he told Arteta to be humble.
    Who is Harlaand ?
He was a toddler when Arteta was playing food football.
If Harlaand wants to go round disrespecting players, that’s his to decide but to go and tell my coach to be humble is off the mark to me.
After all, Harlaand does not play good football. He does not know ball but only scored goals because of the midfielders behind him.

  3. Typical Tarquinius mentality, so funny they’ll still not win anything AGAIN!!! ,Gabrielas a mouthy p@ick just like their fanbase

    1. I can smell the stench of your hypocrisy from here. Where were Neville and you when Haaland threw the ball at Gabruel’s head, during the reverse fixture? I just love the fact that not only Neville us sounding like a clown.

  4. So when players from other teams taunt our players it’s not a big deal. When our players replicate that, they are termed unprofessional. Come on! That’s too petty for Garry Neville to say that. He knows the emotions in these big games

  5. Neville is sick. He never said anything when Halaand assaulted Gaby with the ball. When he disrespected Arteta. I know he deslike Arsenal from his days at Man U. He is so petty to write an article about this issue. He never achieved anything on the international level. He was just an average player. Now he thinks he is knowledgeable about football. He is pathetic.

  6. So its ok to throw objects at people when they are not looking? We will celebrate in your face, Not behind your back Gary!!!

  7. Throwing ball at Big Gabby wasn’t a big deal for Neville.

Insulting Arsenal coach by same Haaland wasn’t an issue.

Now that BG got his revenge the c*nt remembers he has an opinion.

    F*ck off!

  8. Garry, you sound like a lost one here. It’s so funny how you hate this because it’s an Arsenal player who did that but when threw the ball at Gabriel you had your mouth shut. let Gabriel enjoy his happy moments….

  9. Harlaand deserved a even a card for such an act against the defender during their first leg I wish Gary Neville was neutral with would have made a statement there too NOT instead now. During celebrations everyone can choose to face any direction of his desire or choice.

  10. haaland over hypes himself and is too indiscipline. he threw the ball on the back of Gabi after the equaliser, then told the coach to stay humble and then wen skelly Lewis came near haaland to ask him about the insult on the coach, haaland asked skelly *who are you* that is why skelly celebrated to remind haaland who he was

  11. It’s not the responsibility of Arsenal players to please Gary Neville. Theirs is to go out there to play a beautiful game of football, score goals and win matches.

  12. Garry can talk all the like, he chose to wind up players in his days with his choice and Gabby made his choice and Garry is there mouthing. He never cautioned baby Haaland for insulting Arteta, and disrespecting Arsenal players. He is angry Arsenal won QED.
