A clause has been triggered in the contract of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, which should mean good news for Manchester United.
The Red Devils are targeting a summer move for Delap after his fine form in the Premier League, and he should now be available on the cheap.
According to Fichajes, Ipswich’s relegation now being confirmed means Delap has a £30m release clause in his contract this summer.
And the report adds that Man Utd could now accelerate their efforts to sign the 22-year-old as he’s long been a name on their radar.
Delap’s availability for just £30m looks like a great opportunity, so it could be that we can now expect United to step up their interest in the England Under-21 international.
Liam Delap looks like he’d be an exciting signing for Manchester United and other top clubs

Delap has looked head and shoulders above his Ipswich teammates this season, managing to impress in the Premier League despite playing for a team that really struggled.
United need new signings up front after the dire form of Rasmus Hojlund, and Delap looks like he could be the perfect upgrade in that position.
Speaking on the BBC, former Premier League and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson previously praised Delap as a “quality player” who is a real “nuisance” for Premier League defenders.
“Ipswich will do very well to hold on to him. If they don’t survive in the Premier League, you can’t see his future being there,” Robinson said.
“He is a quality player. He led the line on his own against Chelsea. At times, Chelsea were playing a back five with four players in front, and they defended resolutely, but he was always an outlet.
“He is a pest. He is a nuisance. He is always there on the shoulders of the centre-backs. He is making runs in the channels. He is always available.
“When it looks like he isn’t going to win the ball, he puts his body in between the player and the ball, somehow managing to win a free-kick or something for his team.
“He is a top, top player.”
Still, it will be interesting to see if United can win the race for Delap when Give Me Sport only recently claimed that Chelsea felt they were the favourites for his signature.
