Arsenal are reportedly interested in Monaco right-back Vanderson and are keeping him “under close watch” ahead of a potential transfer.
The Brazilian has shone in Ligue 1 and looks like someone who could soon be snapped up by a bigger club, even if past links haven’t materialised into anything concrete.
Arsenal seem to have long-term plans to make changes at right-back, with Fichajes linking them with Vanderson earlier this year, while we’ve previously been informed of them looking into Ivan Fresneda’s situation.
Now Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur is claiming that Vanderson is someone Arsenal are seriously considering, as per his X post below…

“Arsenal remain interested in Monaco right‑back Vanderson. The club have continued to assess the Brazilian defender in recent weeks, keeping him under close watch as one of their long‑standing targets,” he posted.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal continue to keep the 25-year-old as a priority, or if he’s just one of a number of names under consideration for that position.

Do Arsenal need a new right-back?
Arsenal could probably do with thinking about new long-term options for the right-back role, even if they already have two quality options there in the form of Jurrien Timber and Ben White.
Both Timber and White have had some major injuries in recent times, and that will likely be a concern for Mikel Arteta as he needs a squad that can go the distance in four competitions.
Arsenal ended up keeping White this summer even when there were some doubts over his future, and the 28-year-old is perhaps someone who doesn’t have that long left playing at what could be considered his peak years.
WhoScored lists Vanderson’s strengths as aerial duels and ball interception, which makes him sound like just the kind of player Arteta values.
