Gary Neville reveals his thoughts on Erik ten Hag’s future

Gary Neville has revealed his thoughts on Erik ten Hag’s future as the end of the season approaches.

The Red Devils were completely outplayed by a struggling Crystal Palace team on Monday night, allowing Chelsea to leapfrog them in the Premier League table.

Currently sitting in eighth position, Manchester United are on track for their worst-ever finish in Premier League history as they have just three games remaining.

It won’t be any easier to pick up points in their final games, however, as they welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon with Ten Hag fielding a weakened side.

The Dutch manager has been heavily criticised throughout this campaign with his potential future at the club up in the air, especially after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival in Manchester.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash, Neville gave his thoughts on the future of Ten Hag at the club.

‘I don’t see a suitable replacement for Ten Hag available,’ he said on Sky Sports.

‘I think we need to stick with Ten Hag and give him one more season – an injury-free season – to see if United can get back to the standards of last season where they won a trophy and finished in the top four.’

The Red Devils then host Newcastle at home on Wednesday night before their final game away against Brighton on Sunday evening.
