He was to be the glass-chewing “bad cop” to shuffling goon Avram Grant’s “good cop”, but it appears that Chelsea don’t want one without the other and so, despite claiming that his job was safe, Henk Ten Cate has been shown the door by the Chelsea’s number one suit, Peter Kenyon.
“Ten Cate told a Dutch magazine this week that he had received personal assurances from chief executive Peter Kenyon that Grant’s sacking would not jeopardise his future.
‘I’d rather go on that than all those newspaper reports, said the former Ajax boss on Tuesday.” (Daily Mail)
Ten Cate apparently feels that he has been stabbed in the back, but with his reputation for aggressive hectoring, is anyone sad to see him go?

I actually liked him. He might have been a tough man, but he is good at his job if his past achievements are anything to go by. Its reported that Barcelona’s indiscpline problems in the last 2 seasons were because he had quit the club.

how can any chelsea fans make an opinion about this guy? were they on the training ground everyday? how much do they know about his coaching methods?
a coach takes a lot longer than 6 months to make an impression on a club, unlike a manager who dictates selection and tactics
