Judgement day looming for Man United and Real Madrid
by stresster on June 20th, 2008Like a journeyman poker player, Cristiano Ronaldo has been keeping his cards close to his chest in recent weeks with regard to his future. However, it appears that Manchester United will be put out of their misery this weekend, according to the Press Association.
Portugal are now out of Euro 2008 after being unable to defend set pieces and this means that the long-running saga of whether the Red Devils number seven will stick around at Old Trafford or be wearing the white of Real Madrid will finally be resolved. Let’s hear it Cristiano:
“In two or three days’ time I will announce my future because the tournament is over for me,” he said in Portuguese after the game.
Ronaldo added: “I have to speak to Manchester United and we will see. I will talk to them and see what happens.”
He told reporters: “Everyone knows what I want but in the next two or three days you’ll have something new.”
Asked about a move to Madrid, Ronaldo replied: “The possibilities to go are great, but as I have always said it doesn’t always depend on me. I have many desires and in the next few days they will become clear.”
Oh to be a fly on the wall when Ronaldo comes face-to-face with Sir Alex Ferguson, if indeed he plans to return to Manchester. To be fair to the lad, he knows how to create maximum intrigue, it’s almost as if he’s trying to build a brand or something?!

For fuck sake…. honestly i cnt believe there even considering keeping him for the price tag has bn given. 100m fuckin euros, has fergie lost his fuckin mind.. he shud take it now before its too late. so what if hes the best player in the world… they brought him frm ath. madrid for a fee almost 1 tenth of tht. so reli tht was the price of the worlds best player. so y dnt he take the 100m, n buy 10 potential world class players. its a no fuckin brainer…. n ronaldo isnt tht good frm wot we saw last night against germany, hes a tad over rated in my opinion… hes quality, but not out of this world. george best was better… overall!

Correction dude… ronaldo was bought from sporting lisbon…
and yeah… he surely is overrated… half t time he spends divin on t field… maybe he practices divin in t practice sessions to get it perfectly in t big games…
but t fun part of this entire saga is who’s gonna wink first… i hope and pray tat ronaldo leaves… leavin fergie fumin with anger…
and if fergie’s true to his words n leaves manu after ronaldo leaves then its gonna b t iceing on t cake… manu hav already lost anderson to injury but losin ronaldo to real’s gonna piss fergie off badly… and tats exactly wat we want… and even if manu does manage to hang on to ronaldo they surely wont win t premiership this season… take it in writin…

Can’t see him scoring more than 15 goals? Go take a class or something, retard. 41 goals with 34 assists, and he won’t do more than 15? He had more than BOTH strikers in Man U COMBINED… and he spends all his time diving? I know it’s the “cool” thing to do to hate Ronaldo, but look at statistics. Plays well against shit clubs? Like who? Chelsea? Arsenal? Roma? Yeah, these are all TERRIBLE teams.
Overrated my ass, tell me ONE player that has had a better season than him this year? THERE ISN’T ONE.
They lost to Germany on a team effort, and a BS call when Ballack’s goal shouldn’t have counted because he shoved the defender down.

i think that we should sell ronaldo because he isnt worth 100 mill.
think of all the players we can buy with 100 mill.We can buy messi or benzema or quaresma and then we will win the league again

look we all know about his diving and it really not good for the game but as “Yourallridiculous” says, the stats dont lie.
The guy is a fantastic player,
but i do agree with “arsene” that he does tend to bow out when put against the top teer teams.
He’d be the first name on the team sheet for any club in the world.
The only thing that i question about ronaldo is his attitude. As the article say’s he’s not been quelling any rumours throughout this whole saga, which must leaving fergie questioning his desire to be at united. I know he grew up dreaming about playing for teams like barca and madrid but at the end of the day he’s at one of the best teams in the world(and this is coming from a lfc fan btw!) so what more could he want?
100million is a lot of money but who will they get in to replace him?
Potential can only go so far and is not a guarantee of success. Just look at all the flops over the years who were bigged up;
jeffers,pennant,cisse,kirkland,djembadjemba,kleberson,postiga etc etc.
Ronaldo probably wont have the sort of season that he had this year but he’ll still bag close to 20 goals and a truck load of assists.
Fergie should keep him. He’s just too valuable to them
YoureAllRidiculous - June 21st, 2008 at 3:36 pm
THANK YOU Stephen… Finally someone who gets it. Ronaldo isn’t perfect, and his attitude can be attributed to youth… But anyone who wants Quaresma as a signing apparently doesn’t watch the Portuguese league… if you did, you’d know that he’s actually a big ball hog, like ronaldo used to be… except he’s already 25, he has no excuses.
Anyway, regardless of attitude and a few mistakes, Ronaldo still is WORLD CLASS and getting rid of him is just silly.
I still look at this as a way to get more money on Ronaldo’s end. I mean really, he still makes less than John Terry, who’s nearing the end of his career, and Ronaldo’s considered the best in the world and only 23? Come on, he deserves more money than that.
sell me old man - June 21st, 2008 at 5:06 pm
yeah im a diver, cheater, scum face.but all girls love to watch me .tht’s why real madrid really wants me.they sell me for 100m,then they will get more than that as long as keeping me with them.can u imagine that.i will take beckhm palace as world famous, handsome footballer .hahaha..imagine how many money can make by havig me..hahahhaa…

if i was man u manager i would sell ronaldo and buy arshavin
macospech - June 22nd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
no doubt about it, ron is a very good player. i have always love to watch him play but i think it 4 him to leave. getting too big for his shoes. he has not shown any respect to either de manager, club or fans. well 4 real madrid, if they ar desperate, let them pay 4 whatever prise tag. we’ll see who will laugh last. no player is bigger than man u or fergie. bye ronaldo
